Can you imagine what it would be like to be 100 years old? We have just had the most wonderful time at my Aunt's 100th Birthday. She still knits. She lives on her own in a fully contained apartment located in a complex that is strictly for seniors. She still cooks for herself, is very mobile and remembers everything and everyone. She has time for young and old alike listening to their stories and visiting. We were able to visit with people that we had seen recently and catch up with those whom we had not seen for over 30 years. Each had their own stories to share and add to the family history.

Getting started and compiling data about your own family is a very nice way to get to know people. There is an abundance of products to get you started and keep you going in a family search for a very long time. If you think you are going to jot down a few known facts, talk to a few people and write your family history, you are wrong. As you search for answers and people, you will discover things that will give you warm fuzzies and information that may disturb you. If you are planning to do some family history digging, open every door with an open mind and you might just find some things that reveal you came from a place that is totally in another direction. Above all, have fun with it and share, share, share.

As you wonder through time finding out all about your family keep your information organized and dated. Use any method that works for you and don't forget to get the tried and true cherished recipes.

Favorite cookie recipes are found in every family and we are no different. It would seem, though, from our new section, that we have more than one! We hope you enjoy these tried and true snacks complete with selections of bake ware, cookie cutters and cookie jars.

If you are like us, when you decide to make cookies, you don't just make one kind. This is a great opportunity to organize a cookie exchange with friends or family. Imagine the selection of cookies you would have if you, along with six others participated.

While we are waiting for the frost to leave the ground so we can play in the dirt, our minds are of course, turning to spring planting and yard work. Cleaning out planters to ready them for this seasons new and exciting plants is one thing that can be done at this time of year. In the not too distant future, the garden stores will have some of their bedding plants available and perhaps this is the year you will have your own strawberry pot herb garden.

Starting your own seeds and later transplanting them to your flower beds and vegetable gardens is most gratifying. Tabletop lighting, cold frames and starter greenhouses are all items that will give you a head start on your garden.

After the risk of frost is gone, and you either transplant your starter plants or sew the seeds directly in the ground, it is a good idea to identify what exactly you have planted with garden markers.

As much as we love to garden, we love to quilt too. With Mother's Day fast approaching, we have added to our medley of gifts and quilting accessories.
